How OneOeight Wellness started

My journey into the world of wellness started when I first moved to Asia. In many ways that single life event triggered something in me and made me the person I am today.

Hard to believe that a yoga studio could change one's lifestyle. I was a yoga student back then, but I never really practiced consistently. Thanks to the inspiration, guidance and wisdom of teachers, experts and peers today I am a yoga instructor and I understand yoga as a way of life and transformation. I discovered that by practicing yoga I can ground my vatta mind.

It was also in Asia that I was introduced to Reiki healing for the very first time. I was skeptical at first, but after experiencing the different levels of Reiki healing, my heart knew this was my life purpose and my path: to help heal. Using this Japanese technique I can heal and be healed by using the energy which surrounds us everywhere in the universe.

In years that followed Reiki and yoga, I have developed the desire to learn and share this knowledge. I have ventured into the world of Ayurveda, aromatherapy, meditation and, more recently, Functional Medicine.
Helping others to live a healthy, happy and balanced life gives me the greatest satisfaction of all.
The symbolism of 108
The number 108 has held many different meanings throughout history. For many years it has been considered a sacred number in Hinduism and yoga, and is widely recognized in astronomy, numerology, literature and Traditional Chinese Medicine, to name a few.
In the world of yoga, the number 108 refers to spiritual completion.
Pranayama is often done in cycles of 108 breath counts and yogis practice 108 Sun Salutations at equinox or solstice.

Tibetan Buddhism uses 108 mala prayer beads for counting mantras and for meditation. In Japanese Buddhist temples, worshipers ring the bell 108 times to welcome the new year.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine there are 108 meridian points on the human body and it is said there are 108 energy lines converging to form the heart chakra.

In astronomy, 108 is a number that connects the sun, the moon and the earth. The diameter of the sun multiplied by 108 equals the distance between the sun and earth, and the diameter of the moon multiplied by 108 equals the distance between earth and the moon. The diameter of the sun is 108 times the diameter of the earth.
